About Causeway
Causeway Pictures is an independent film and television production and development company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Founded by producer Chris Patterson in 2009, we develop original film, television, documentary and narrative audio for UK and international audiences.
We work with writers and creative partners from concept and script development through packaging and market positioning, building a slate of original stories across formats.
Alongside our own projects, we provide production support and international co-production expertise across the UK and Ireland.
Our Story
Founded in Belfast in 2009 by producer Chris Patterson, Causeway Pictures develops original stories across film, television, documentary and narrative audio. We work with writers and creative partners from early concept through script development, packaging and market positioning.
Our slate brings together projects across formats, connecting creative talent with development funding, broadcasters, distributors and international partners. We build a long-term catalogue of original intellectual property and collaborate with production partners to bring these stories to the screen.
Chris Patterson has worked in the screen industry for over two decades. His work has screened at Galway Film Fleadh, Raindance, Aesthetica and Belfast Film Festival. He produced Lie of the Land, winner of Best New Irish Feature at the 2023 Galway Film Fleadh, and co-produced the Netflix series Senna, which received a Critics’ Choice nomination.
Alongside our original projects, we support production and international co-production across the UK and Ireland, providing regional expertise, local partnerships and practical support for incoming productions.
